What weight BB should I Use?

A question as old as Airsoft itself, with infinite answers. Luckily there are at least some guides lines.

Typically the heavier the BB the more accurate. However using heavier BBs may sacrifice your maximum range depending on your hop-up setup and velocity. Another factor to consider is playing outdoors. Using heavier BBs will help your shots travel further through thick brush and fight the effects of windage. This is a very compressed explanation, we leave it here for one reason: Personal Preference.

Start with a bag of .20 grams (unless your replica has ungodly FPS or Joules). Go to your local field, try the .20 grams, and see how they perform. If you’re satisfied with the results, you’ve found the BB weight that best suits you. If not, try different weights and ask fellow players and community members what works best for them and why.

Finding the right BB weight is often trial and error. A VERY simple FPS guide is provided below that will give you an idea on where to begin.

0.20g: 210 to 370 fps
0.25g: 330 to 420 fps
0.30g+ and up: 360 fps +

Even the numbers provided above will be subject to debate online and on the field. So we leave you with this:
Find what works for you and your airsoft setup.

Have fun, Play safe.
